Bank Tells Man He Owes $211 Trillion

It’s one thing to bounce a check and it’s another to be so far in the red Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and Donald Trump combined couldn’t come close to bailing you out. A Cobb County man got a letter from his bank with that very shocking news.
“And I open up the letter and I look at it and I’m like, ‘No, you’ve got to be kidding me,’ said Joe Martins.
Martins said he recently closed an account at Wachovia Bank and made good on an outstanding check. He just got a letter about the closure and his negative balance -- $211,010,028,257,303.00. That’s $211 trillion.
The letter includes the clarification, “no cents.”

Castro to Chavez: Watch out for U.S.-backed assassination attempts

Fidel Castro said Friday he has warned Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to watch out for U.S.-backed assassination attempts, telling his close friend and socialist ally to avoid open-top vehicles that could be targeted by snipers.
The 81-year-old Castro said Venezuela is facing "a world tyranny" as voters decide Sunday on constitutional changes that would give Chavez unchecked power to further transform the South American country into a socialist state.
"The empire has created conditions conducive to violence and internecine conflicts" in Venezuela, Castro wrote in an essay published in Cuba's two leading official newspapers, referring to the U.S.

Teen suicide spurs war on child prostitution

At the age of 15, Samantha Walker was lured into prostitution on the streets of Toledo, Ohio, then taken against her will to Atlanta.
What makes her story different from thousands of others is that she testified against one of the men who paid for sex with her, helping to send him to prison.
But just weeks after the trial she took an overdose of drugs she was taking for depression and died at the age of 18.
More than 300,000 children are being sexually exploited in the United States, according to a study by the University of Pennsylvania.

Poll: Obama Gains on Clinton in New Hampshire

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is gaining on rival Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, while Republican Mitt Romney’s lead in the early voting state is stable, according to a new poll by Suffolk University for Boston’s WHDH TV.
Likely voters in New Hampshire’s Jan. 8 Democratic primary, which includes independents, gave 34 percent support to Clinton, while 22 percent backed Obama and 15 percent picked former North Carolina senator John Edwards. Just 12 percent were undecided. Her current 12-point spread contrasts to June when Clinton led Obama by 18 points.

Police: Corpse likely that of secret Kansas College porn star

A body found in Kansas appears to be that of a missing college student who led a secret life as an Internet porn star, police said Thursday.
Authorities said the preliminary physical description of the body found about 50 miles east of El Dorado matches that of missing college student Emily Sander. Investigators refused to give details about the state of the body or how it was found.
Sander’s case drew wide attention after it was revealed that she appeared nude on a popular adult Web site under the name Zoey Zane. That site was temporarily inaccessible Thursday, as were several sites that bill themselves as “fan” sites of Zane.

Tempers still raw after fractious Republican debate

Tempers were raw between rival Republican presidential candidates Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney on Thursday after a lively debate that included what the Romney camp called a nasty attack by Giuliani.
The two candidates -- Giuliani ahead in national polls and Romney leading in the two early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire -- went toe-to-toe on Wednesday on illegal immigration and other issues.
In the sharpest exchange of the night, Giuliani had a tough response when Romney insisted New York had been a sanctuary for illegal immigrants when Giuliani was mayor.

A missing Kansas college student believed to be the victim of foul play apparently led a double life as an Internet porn star by the name of Zoey Zane.
Nude photos of 18-year-old Emily Sander appeared on a Zoey Zane Web site before she vanished, and investigators are looking into whether her modeling had anything to do with her disappearance last Friday.

A Chilean prostitute has auctioned 27 hours of sex to raise money for the country's largest charity during an annual fund-raising campaign.
Maria Carolina became an overnight celebrity in the conservative Roman Catholic country, making news headlines and appearing on talk shows since she made her unusual donation to the televised charity event, which runs for 27 hours starting on Friday evening.
"I've already auctioned off the 27 hours of love," Maria Carolina told Reuters on Wednesday, saying she had raised about $4,000. "One of my clients already paid. It seemed like a good deed to him."

"Porno-prof" teacher suspended

An Italian teacher has been suspended from school because of her extra-curricular activities as a porn star, local authorities announced Thursday.
The out-of-hours behavior of Anna Ciriani, who calls herself "Madameweb" in hard-core videos on the Internet and at erotic shows, was "not compatible with educational activity," the head of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia education authority said.
Ciriani, dubbed the "porno-prof" by Italy's main newspapers, said she never let her hobby get in the way of her teaching.
